Social Inclusion Project

At AMCIS 2023, we strongly believe in promoting inclusivity and diversity within the conference community. As part of our commitment to fostering equal opportunities, we are proud to offer scholarships to conference attendees from underprivileged and underrepresented regions. Our scholarship programs aims to support talented individuals who may face financial or geographical barriers, providing them with a unique opportunity to join us at the conference and contribute to the vibrant exchange of ideas and knowledge. Through these scholarships, we hope to create an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and cultivates a rich tapestry of perspectives, ultimately enhancing the overall conference experience for everyone involved. In addition to AIS scholarships, AMCIS 2023 initiated three scholarship programs specifically for AMCIS 2023:

The AMCIS 2023 Virtual Conference Registration Grant has been established to provide a discounted conference registration fee (up to 100% discount) for individuals interested in attending the virtual experience of AMCIS 2023.

The AMCIS 2023 In-Person Scholarship Program has been established to provide a need-based scholarship for individuals interested in attending AMCIS 2023 in person.

The AMCIS 2023 In-Person Panama Scholarship Program has been established to provide a need-based scholarship for Panamanian individuals interested in attending AMCIS 2023 in person. Recognizing the importance of promoting IS in Panama and ensuring inclusivity, the AMCIS 2023 committee is committed to maximizing the involvement of local students and faculty. We understand that providing financial support can significantly contribute to their ability to participate in the conference. As one of the primary objectives of hosting the conference in Panama is to expand the reach of AIS in Latin America, with a special focus on Panama, offering scholarships to Panamanian academicians has become a crucial initiative of AMCIS 2023. We are grateful to receive substantial financial support from Promtur Panama, a Panamanian government agency engaged in promoting Panama, which has played an instrumental role in making this scholarship program a resounding success.

We are thrilled to announce that the total value of scholarship amounts for these programs surpass $30,000, making AMCIS 2023 scholarships program to be the largest among all AIS conferences’ scholarship programs. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors, donors, and the AIS leadership for their unwavering support and contributions, which have made these scholarships possible. Their generosity has enabled us to provide substantial financial assistance to conference attendees who may face financial constraints, furthering our commitment to promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the following members for their invaluable contributions to this initiative:
